Japanese Barberries, in addition to being highly invasive, carry black stem rust, a fungus which also affects wheat and other related agricultural crops. Discontinuing cultivation would not only help stop threatened populations of native plants and ecosystems, but help to secure our food supply. Please be responsible - I am also a gardener and love ornamental plants, but sometimes can settle for a great photo rather than the actual plant.
